I am so far behind in posts, it is not funny. Dan and I went to Hawaii in October, I switched jobs, then a major restructuring of our rescue that resulted in people actually allowing me to be the vice president of the rescue (I thought people couldn’t vote drunk, but here we are!). It has been a little hectic around here. So now 3 months late, I am here to tell you all about our little Lu’s first birthday.
Look at that cute sweet baby! I am mortified that she is a year old now. The good news is she still manages to look like (and usually act like) a puppy.

If you aren’t aware already, we are lucky enough to have a really good relationship with one of Delucas sisters, Millie. Well maybe more so with her mom Amabelle. She is a crazy Corgi person and she doesn’t live too far from us. For their 1/2 birthday we had a little party complete with hats and puppy cup cakes. Why would it be any different for their 1st birthday!?

They ran around like the cutest little, derpy caterpillars I have ever seen. Deluca is a long-haired Corgi (fluffy), while Millie is technically a normal haired Corgi but it is crazy how similar they look. Millie definitely has some exceptional fluff.
I know I am partial but look how freakin’ adorable they are! A single Corg is pretty adorable but add another one into the mix…cuteness explosion. I just sat watching them, mesmerized by their cuteness.

Amabelle found a doggy bakery that made them a birthday cake as well. I can not explain to you how heavy this thing was. It is basically a big ole meat cake. So meaty. I think they liked it.
There were also hats. We did this for their 1/2 birthday and they hated it but it was cute. Turns out 6 months later they still hate it, but it is also, still really cute. Fun times were had by all…well until Deluca turned into a bratty tried toddler at the end of the party. I guess that is really to be expected. She is lucky she is so cute.
